PLACES TO VISIT

Calella Archive Museum  (Street of Escoles Pies, 36). Open: Tuesday to Saturday, from 17.00 to 20.00 h. Sundays and bank holidays, 11.00 to 14.00 h. Entrance: 2 €.

Exhibition area of the Old Town Hall. Pl. Ajuntament (Town Hall Square, 1-3). Open: Tuesday to Saturday from 17 to 20.00 h and Sundays and bank holidays from 11.00 to 14.00 hours. Free entry.

Calella Tourism Museum (Street of Sant Pere, 122-140). Open: Tuesday to Saturday from 17.00 to 20.00 h. Sundays and bank holidays from 11.00 to 18.00 h. Entrance: 2 €. 

Public Library of Can Salvador de la Plaça, Pl. Ajuntament (Town Hall Square 30-31). Open: Mornings, Thursday to Friday from 10.00 to 13.00 h and Saturday from 10.00 to 13.30 h. Evenings, Monday to Friday from 16.00 to 20.30 h.

ACTIVITIES

SATURDAY, 2

17.00 h, Town Hall Square: beginning of Carnival celebrations with the children’s carnival parade through the different streets of Calella and ending at the Llobet factory where refreshments will be given to the children.  In case of rain the celebrations will all take place at the Llobet Guri Factory.  Free entry.  Limited capacity.  Groups participating in the carnival parade will take precedence.

23.00 h, fancy dress ball. Bar service. Free entry. Limited capacity

SUNDAY, 3

09.00 to 15.00, promenade Manuel Puigvert, exchange and collectibles market.

WEDNESDAY, 6

18.00 h, At the Plaça Catalunya:  Traditional Carnival activity (the burying of the sardine) with a parade through the following streets: Cervantes, Església, plaça de l’Església.

FRIDAY, 8

22.00 h, La Gàbia restaurant (Promenade of Manuel Puigvert), 20th Calella Cafe Jazz anniversary, concert with Laura Simó (voice), Jordi Torrens (guitar) and Arrigo Tomasi (piano). Free entry.

SATURDAY, 9

19.00 h, Main 20th Carnival Parade. Itineray: Poblenou (Pineda): Av. Mediterrani, av. Hispanitat Calella: street of Església and street of Indústria.

23.00 h, In the Fàbrica Llobet Guri (Calella), Dancing to an orchestra and prize giving. Free entry.  Please note that the venue has a limited capacity.

SUNDAY, 10

09.00 h, in Manuel Puigvert Promenade (in front of Sardana monument) Reading of the manifest for  International Day of Women.  Starting point of the 7th march for working women. Inscriptions:  Working Women’s Association (Street of Església, 173). Price: 6 €.

WEDNESDAY, 13

10.00 h, in the Fàbrica Llobet-Guri:  Meeting point for the participants in the Nordic walk through Calella.

FRIDAY, 15

22.00 h, Sala Mozart (c. Església, 91, in the bar):  20th Calella Cafe Jazz Anniversary, concert with Carme Canela (voice) and Joan Monné (piano). Free entry.

SUNDAY, 17

10.30 h, Pl. Esglèsia (Parish Church Square), canine parade and exhibition

FRIDAY, 22

22.00 h, Sublim Club (Street Turisme, 8-10): 20th Calella Cafe Jazz Anniversary. In two parts: the first part is a concert with: Nando Picó (tenor saxo), Lluís Vallès (baritone saxo), Pere Grau (soprano sazo), Juan Carlos Narzekian (hight saxo ) and Alfons Carrascosa (composition and direction).  Second part: Pere Grau (saxo), Marc Ledesma (guitar), Manel del Viejo (double bass) and Ernest Martínez (percussion). Free entry.

SUNDAY, 24

11.15 h, At the plaça de Catalunya, the starting point of the Parade of Castellers. Itinerary: Cervantes, Església, Bisbe Sivilla  and  Town Hall Square to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the group.

12.00 h, At the Town Hall Square, diada castellera (day of the human castles) with performances by the Capgrossos from other Catalan towns.

16.30 h, on the Promenade of Manuel Puigvert: concert with Ruc’n’Roll group to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the group.

MONDAY, 25

17:00 h, on the main street N-II (Roses Square): Arrival of the first stage of the 99th Catalan Cycling Tour.

FRIDAY, 29

22.00 h, Surf&Turf restaurant (c. Amadeu, 50): 20th Cafe Jazz Anniversary, concert with Xavier Casellas (voice) and Jaume Vilaseca (piano). Free entry.

SATURDAY, 30

16.00 h, in the Indoor Municipal Market: Presentation of the African woman’s group from the Maresme with a musical performance by the singer Suba and her group, artisan exhibition, African accessories and books for sale by the Wanafrica Editorial.

SUNDAY, 31

10.00 h, at the Town Hall Square:  Starting point of the Popular Cycling ride “Pedal for Health”. Itinerary ideal for all ages. Inscription is not required. On arrival to the Promenade of Manel Puigvert refreshments will be given to all participants.
