PLACES TO VISIT

The Calella City Museum (c. Escoles Pies, 36)

Open Tuesday to Saturday 18:00 to 21:00h. Sunday and public holidays 11 am to 14.00 h. Entrance:  € 2. Free admission on the first Sunday of the month. Guided visits for groups in the following languages: Catalan, English and French, for more information and reservations send an email to:  fernandezcl@calella.cat.

The Tourism Museum (c. Sant Pere, 122-140)

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday 17 to 21.00 h. Sundays and public holidays 11 am to 14.00 h and 17 to 21.00 h. Entrance: € 2.  Free admission on the first Sunday of the month. The Exhibition room at the Old Town Hall (plaça de l’Ajuntament, 1-3)

Open Monday to Friday 10 to 14.00h. Tuesday to Saturday 18 to 21.00 h.  Sundays and public holidays 11 20 14.00 h.  Free entrance

The small Chapel of Sant Quirze & Santa Julita

Open all year from Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) from 09.00 to 14.00 h. Please reserve your visit by calling 937695102 or by email at:  m.calella@diba.cat

The Calella lighthouse.

Hours: Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 17 to 21.00 h. Entrance fee: € 2.  Free admission on the first Sunday of the month. Guided visits for groups in the following languages: Catalan, English and French, for more information and reservations send an email to:  fernandezcl@calella.cat.

The Air Raid Shelter in the Dalmau Park (at the children`s play area): Open: Tuesday to Sunday and bank holidays from 17.00 to 21.00h. Entrance: 1€.

Walking routes around Calella

Leaving from the Camp de Futbol de Mar on the following days: 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27 and 29 September at 7.00 h.

Taixi in the Dalmau Park:

September 5, 9, 12, 19 and 26 from 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. Organized by the Calella-Marxa Association. For more information at 655 81 20 07.

 

THURSDAY 1st

From the 1st to the 11th of September: International Folklore Festival of Catalonia (IFF).

 

FRIDAY 2nd

21.30h, on the Promenade of Manuel Puigvert, Inaugural show of the International Folklore Festival of Catalonia. In case of rain the event will take place in the Sala Mozart.

22.00 h, at the Lighthouse, concert by Ginestà (Pop Folk). NEC’22. Entrance: €15/€18

 

SATURDAY 3rd

10.00 a 21.00 h, On the main shopping street, open air shopping.

17:00 a 23 h, at the Parish Church: Marine Fest.

20.00 h, in the courtyard of the Arxiu museum, double concert, with Brendan Power (United Kingdom) and the duo Marko Jovanovic (Germany) & Georgi Sareski (Macedonia), Jazz & Blues Festival in Calella Joan Josep Ribas (Txespi) and 1st. Festival of Harmonicas. Entrance €15.

 

SATURDAY 17th

19.00 h, in the town hall square: Blues concert. 31st Jazz & Blues Festival in Calella Joan Josep Ribas (Txespi) and 1st. Festival of Harmonicas.

21.00 h, Sala Mozart, Double Concert with three world harmonicists, with Joan Pau Cumellas (Catalonia), Greg Zlap (France) and William Galison (USA), Jazz & Blues Festival in Calella Joan Josep Ribas (Txespi) and 1st. Festival of Harmonicas. Entrance €18.

From September 22nd to 25th: The Minerva Festival and on the Promenade of Manuel Puigvert celebration of the 41st Fair of Calella and Alt Maresme

21.00h, at the Town Hall square, proclamation of the Festa Major with dancing, giants, small fireworks, speaches and entertainment by the Zigurat Band.

23.00h, in the marquee on the beach,  concerts by the groups: Els Catarres, Miquel del Roig and DJ Jorge Peñafiel. Free entrance.

 

FRIDAY 23rd

11.00 h, at the Parish Church Square: Dancing of the Giants.

12.15 h, from the Parish Church Square to the town hall square: Dancing of the Giants.

13.30 h, in the beach marquee: Exhibition of home cooking.

21.00 h, Night parade of the Giants and pipers of Calella from the Church Square, through the street until reaching the Llobet-Guri factory. Free entrance.

11.00 p.m., in the huts at the marquee on the beach:, concert by the groups: Lildami, The Tyets and Pelukass. Free entrance.

 

SATURDAY, 24th

11.30 h, in the marquee on the beach, family concert with The Penguins “Reggae for Xics”. Free.

17.00 h, at the Parish Church Square ( plaça Església): Concert with the traditional pipe instruments of Catalonia.

17.45 h, parade of the Human Tower Group of the Alt Maresme and the Selva Marítima. Departure from the Plaça de l’Església, Bisbe Sivilla, to the Plaça de l’Ajuntament.

18.00h, Town Hall Square (plaça de l’Ajuntament): Human Towers.

19.00 h, at the Church Square: Mr. and Mrs. Calella 2022.

21.30 h, at the Plaça de Lluís Gallart,  Parade of Fire. Itinerary: Plaça de Lluís Gallart, Àngel Guimerà, Jovara, Creus, Església, Plaça de l’Església, Romaní, Bisbe Sivilla and Plaça de l’Ajuntament.

23.00 h, in the marquee on the beach (in the huts): concert by the groups: Buhos, Orquestra Girasol (special 40 years) and the Dj’s Show with Drag Queens Party. Free entrance.

 

SUNDAY 25th

9:30h, Carrer Església (Cervantes-Balmes), 39th Meeting of Giants followed by breakfast at the Plaça de Lluís Gallart. Price: €2.

11.30h, from the Carrer de l’Església/Cervantes, parade of Giants through the following streets: Església, Sant Josep, Jovara, Escoles Pies, to the Town Hall square.

11.30h, at the Fair: Traditional Catalan Sardana Dance and concert.

12.30h., in the Town Hall square: 39th Meeting of Giants and dances.

18.00h in Plaça Lluís Gallart, Holi Party.

18.00h, in the marquee on the beach: concert by the Montgrins orchestra. Free.

20.30h, in the marquee on the beach, Festa Major dance with the Montgrins orchestra. Free

21.30h approx. Fireworks display on the beach.

 

FRIDAY 30th

20.30h, in the Parish Church of Calella: concert by the Escolania de Montserrat. Entry €3. Tickets on sale at www.entrapolis.com, at the Sala Mozart box office on Wednesday 21st and 28th of September from 18 to 20.00h and one hour before the concert begins subject to availability.

 

INFORMATION NEC’22

Free public transport and bar service. In case of rain the concerts will be held at the Llobet Guri Factory. Tickets on sale at www.entrapolis.com and at the Sala Mozart box office on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Far Box Office: two hours before the concert begins subject to availability.

Tickets on sale at www.entrapolis.com, in the museum itself or at the box office as from one hour before the performance, subject to availability. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Sala Mozart.
