Discover Beach Festival in Calella
Enjoy a movie night under the stars this August on Calella’s beach
August is the perfect time for outdoor activities, warm nights, and shared experiences. In Calella, one of the most popular summer events is the Cinema a la fresca, a unique initiative that transforms the beach into an open-air movie theater under the stars. Ideal for families, couples or groups of friends, this free cultural proposal combines the best of cinema with the charm of the Mediterranean evenings.
A summer cinema experience like no other
Organised by the Rosebud Association of Cinema Lovers, the Cinema a la fresca is part of the Calella Film Festival, which has been promoting quality cinema since 2016. Screenings take place right on the sand of Calella’s main beach, in front of Xiri 9, using a large screen with great visibility from all spots.
Attendees usually bring towels, blankets or folding chairs, and many enjoy a picnic-style dinner during the film. It’s a relaxed and charming plan that blends culture and summer vibes—perfect for locals and visitors alike.
