CARNIVAL ACTIVITIES: 17.15 h, at the plaça de l’Església, celebration of Shrove Tuesday with popular chocolate and the entertainment show “La festa xaxipiruli” by La Sal dels Mars. Popular snack by the Sant Quirze Association. In case of rain, the show will be held at the Fàbrica Llobet. Organized by Calella City Council.

CARNIVAL: 17:30 h, at the Town Hall Square, Proclamation of the Carnival King from the balcony of the Town Hall.
CARNIVAL: from the Town Hall Square, the children’s parade through the streets of Calella, enlivened by the Bufant Fort Street Band, stilts and with the participation of the Giants and pipers of Calella. Route: departure from the Town Hall Square, Escoles Pies,
Jovara, Ànimes and to the Llobet Factory. In case of rain, it will be held at the Llobet-Guri Factory.
CARNIVAL: 18:30 h., at the Llobet Guri Factory, a family Carnival party with snacks for all the children and musical entertainment by the entertainment group El Gripau Blau. Bar service. In case of rain the party will start directly at the Fàbrica Llobet-Guri. Free admission, limited capacity.

18:00 h, at the Calella Orfeo Theatre, the 51st edition of the Amateur Theatre Competition “City of Calella” Prize, with the play Maria Rosa, from the company Grup Teatre ACR Fals, by Fals. Social and love drama and one of the most celebrated plays by the Catalan playwright Àngel Guimerà along with “Terra Baixa”, “Mar i cel” and “La Filla del mar.

ASH WEDNESDAY 18th FEBRUARY
CARNIVAL: 18:15 h, at the plaça Catalunya, Burial of the sardine, gathering of widows and children with the painted sardine for the Burial of the sardine. At 18.30h., the parade begins along Cervantes and Església streets and to the Plaça de l’Església. At approximately 19.00 h. with the reading of the will, cremation of Carnestoltes and prize drawing for the
widows’ contest and the “Make your own sardine” contest.
