Below is the official schedule of activities for this year’s Easter celebrations, so you can plan your visit as you wish
Easter 2025 Schedule:
SUNDAY, APRIL 13
11:00 a.m. – Church Square: Departure of the “Burret” procession through the main church portal.
12:00 p.m. – Palm Sunday: Blessing of palms and bouquets.
FRIDAY, APRIL 18
10:00 a.m. – Church Square: Via Crucis, starting at the Sant Pere portal.
6:00 p.m. – Parish of Santa Maria and Sant Nicolau: Good Friday Service.
7:15 p.m. – Chapel of Sant Quirze and Santa Julita: Easter concert by the Laetare Choir. Free entry. Donations accepted (“reverse box office”).
7:45 p.m. – Church Square: Departure of the “Armats” (Easter Brotherhood guards), following a route through Church Square, Church Street, Sant Josep, Jovara, Bartrina, City Hall Square, and Bisbe Sivilla, ending at the church.
8:30 p.m. – From the main church portal: Procession of Light and Silence, with the image of the Virgin of Sorrows. The route includes Romaní, Església, Batlle, Jovara, Escoles Pies, City Hall Square, and Bisbe Sivilla, returning to the church.
SATURDAY, APRIL 19
10:00 p.m. – Parish of Santa Maria and Sant Nicolau: Easter Vigil.
SUNDAY, APRIL 20
1:00 p.m. – Parish of Santa Maria and Sant Nicolau: Procession with the image of the Virgin and the Angel through Bisbe Sivilla Street to City Hall Square.
1:15 p.m. – From the balcony of City Hall: the Angel Song, performed by Carla Verdura.
In addition to the religious events, many other activities take place in the city during these days:
April 18–20 – Dalmau Park Pavilion: Handball Tournament (organized by UEHC).
Friday, April 18 (11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) – Plaza Espanya: 32nd Popular “Bunyolada” (traditional sweet fritters).
